MONROE – Terence “Terry” Van Dzura was appointed councilman-at-large, filling the seat vacated by Stephen Dalina, who was appointed interim mayor on Jan. 20.
Van Dzura, a 25-year township resident, serves as chairman of the township’s planning board.
A special election will be held in November to fill the unexpired council-at-large term.
Van Dzura, Dalina and Council President Miriam Cohen were under consideration for the interim mayor’s post, following the December death of Mayor Gerald Tamburro.
