According to the release, prior to joining the Village of Flossmoor, Novoa had worked for the last two years as the comptroller and finance director for the Village of Crestwood. Novoa also previously worked as a municipal auditor and in the Village of Tinley Park’s finance department. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University and a Master of Science in Accountancy from Benedictine University, the release states.

“What drew me to Flossmoor was the opportunity to work under [Finance Director] Scott [Bordui]. Professionally, he has an amazing reputation. I’m excited to be in a position where I can work with someone so respected in the industry,” Novoa said.

Novoa started with the Village on June 28, and will shadow Gawczynski until her official retirement this month.
